Wow…it’s that time already?

Kirina

So, according to WoWhead’s website change, and it’s Tuesday (maintenance day), I can only conclude that the screenshots I had left to take of some of the Eastern Kingdoms (in their classic, original state) is passé due to the fact Cataclysm exploded Azeroth.

Nooooo!!!!!!!

/Sigh. If you haven’t noticed, I added a new section under Fashion entitled “Spirit of Azeroth”. I have finished my Kalimdor sets (still writing up the article), but, I was also in the process of putting together the Eastern Kingdom article too. How am I supposed to pose around a big crater in Westfall? Or, take a screenshot of a not-so-flooded Wetlands. ;( Good thing I got a pictures of the Park in Stormwind before it was obliterated, but, writing about an outfit for it now seems kind of pointless.

I feel as though I have let this site down by not working faster. I really wish that I had written these articles “on time” so that it was out for you all to see and enjoy before the world changed forever. There’s no sense crying over spilled milk now, but, it still really hurts me, and I’m sorry. I kind of wish Blizzard had waited, what…a week and a couple of days?…to do this, but whatever.

What’s left of these two articles should be up tomorrow, when I don’t have class, or much of anything to worry about. But still….GRRRRR!!!!

Kirina, I completely understand your sadness…I wasn’t ready, either! However, now your outfits mean even more: nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia. And…sniff…is it TRUE that the mystic sarong is MIA??

Your site is such an inspiration; I have been halfheartedly playing WoW with my dozens-of-level-80s sweetheart for the past couple of years, but it was not until I found your site that I started truly getting excited about it again. Thank you!

@Hanuma: I agree that Blizzard made a mistake about removing some of the unique gear. WoWhead scared me too. For a while after the patch, some items that were sold through various vendors around different zones (like the Mystic Sarong) and items that dropped off of rare mobs weren’t listed in their database. I’ve been checking, and so far, they seem to still be in the game, just dropped/sold by different NPCs

Thanks about the screenshot offer. I’m good with pictures for now…just have to have the time write everything up. And actually, I was looking around my site the other day. I made a big fuss over nothing. With all the pictures I’ve taken in-game for this site – I have plenty of classic WoW memories ^_^

This expansion is harder for me too, I’ll admit. It’ll all be old news soon enough though, and everything will be back in some kind of order ^_^

I have some screenshots of the park if you need them. Come to think of it, I have about 5000 scenery screenshots from all over Azeroth. I can dig up some for you, just let me know. 😉

And yes, publish everything! Especially if it’s something that’s no longer in the game. I think Blizz made a major mistake by removing some very unique items in favor of new gear. Maybe, and I know I’m super optimistic here, if they see that someone cares they will reintroduce things. Maybe…

I’m having the very same problems with keeping up with the changes… *sighs*

@ Xax: Thanks for your kind words. I’m happy to know that this site still interests those who don’t play the game anymore ^_^

@ Kam: I’d love to see your screen-shots of Westfall. The Wetlands hasn’t changed too much (save for Menethril Harbor).

  • Kamalia Says:

I have screenshots of Westfall and the Wetlands I could send you. I can’t guarantee that any of them will be exactly what you want, though, and of course a photoshopped pic wouldn’t be quite the same.

    >writing about an outfit for it [the Park] now seems kind of pointless.

As a reason who hasn’t played wow since spring, this whole blog seems pointless! But I still subscribe because it’s still so fun to see the creative things you do. It should be a crime for you to hold back an outfit, regardless of whether the purpose for it is still there! Show us, show us!
