*First of all, I have to thank Kirina for creating such a great medium for us to share our ideas, and of course the inspiring contributors. A Tasty Cupcake to you all.*
Now we guys have a problem: unlike women who have an infinite number of robes to pick from while managing their auctions around town, we're stuck with just our one black tuxedo - not any more comfortable than a spiky metal helm or...
this (it helped heal okay?). So in an effort to address this problem, I've created a couple (sorry for the lack of easy pics - I tested, and they wouldn't show):
Blue WorkmanSimple but crisp, the combination of tuxedo pants, dress shoes, and any workman's shirt gets the job done. The book can be easily purchased by Alliance players from
some guy in SW's Old Town. While any book will do, if you're Horde and really hung on a black book, there's the
Out-of-Date Manual.
Formal BlueThe Mistscape Armor works seamlessly with the White Linen Shirt to create another clean outfit. The Mistscape Boots and Bracers' gold-and-blue trims also work well with the Azure Silk Belt. The
Starfire Vest is the purple alternative that, when used with a Green Linen Shirt, can be worn during the Darkmoon Faire.
Golden BookkeeperLike the last one, the Elementalist Tunic here is used with the White Linen Shirt. The Gossamer Belt, Bracers, and Pants are also used to compliment the chest's golden filigree. Again, a book is thrown in because nothing's more casual than a dusty tome...? (We need more options, Blizz). The monocle is also optional, but it's there because this outfit feels fancier than the other two. And while I admit the Elementalist Boots are a letdown, I personally think they're shaped better than the
frilly Gossamer Boots.
Rustic GardenerIf the last three are a little too haughty for your character or if you're just tired of lugging books, how about a shovel and this green outfit? The Canvas Vest is naturally gonna be the hardest to find out of the three gray items; the other two are both replaceable and optional. Horde players are lucky to be able to wield both a shovel and an off-hand flower to perfect the gardener look, but we Alliance players can deal with a
Kobold Shovel.
Silver CasualBut if dusty tomes and dirty knees are neither your cup of tea, the silver alternative to the Canvas Vest, the Brocade Vest, gives a happy medium. You'll still have to farm for this chest too though.
Red is for RomanceThe red of the Recruit’s Vest in this near black ensemble gives it a unique devilish appeal. Just add the rose and use a Toothpick to make her swoon with your roguish charm. The vest is the starting chest of Night Elf warriors, so Hordies will need to try the goblin AH. And while the belt is the Worgen warrior starter belt, any belt will do.
Orange is for O...Autumn?A similar look uses the Worn Leather Vest and the Orange Mageweave Shirt, giving it an autumnal feel. It's also suave enough to be a great excuse to finally equip that Bouquet of Orange Marigolds to give to someone special.
Winter HolidayFor Winter's Veil, distinguish yourself from all of Great-father Winter's helpers in IF or Org, and play it cool with a warm Red Linen Vest and a Green Workman's Shirt. The Padded Belt compliments the shirt well while the Linen Boots' red trimmings match the vest. You're not exempt from the Green and Red Holiday Hat scramble though - the festive hats are a great way to loosen the outfit up. A green vest exists that you could wear with a Red Linen Shirt, but that's reserved for...
Merry LeprechaunWhile it doesn't look like casual wear, it can be without the Green Brewfest Hat and the Pilgrim’s Boots.
Lax SummerWhen the summer heat hits harder than Onyxia's deep breaths, nothing works better than the Red Mageweave Vest with some really Nice Shorts from STV. The chestpiece is not only great because its lively summer colors, but also because of the way it loosely drapes over you.
Lazy FishingThis is aimed more for casual, sleep-under-a-shade-by-the-river-bank fishing that extreme anglin'. The Sleeveless T-Shirt is a Horde-only lootable drop from dead Alliance players in AV, so check the goblin AH if you're Alliance. While this shirt is cleaner, it's casual fishing after all, so you can use other shirts like
Captain Sander's Shirt or the
Gilnean Adventurer's Shirt too.
Opulent PajamasTo appropriately finish this long post, here's even an alternative to the Dining Suits some use as pajamas. I'm sure they come in other colors, but what's more somnolent than blue?
I hope that this post could help out the other half of the RP population. If its tameness disappointed you, fret not! Costumes in the future! And perhaps an update with actual in-game pictures!
Maybe.
Thanks again, Kirina!
